House Financial Services Committee Votes In Favor of Internet Gambling Bill

This past Tuesday the House Financial Services Committee voted in favor of an internet gambling bill that would require federal agencies to define unlawful internet gambling before regulations are completed to enforce a ban against it. The vote was 30-19 for the bill. (19/09)

Integrity Unit Created to Investigate Tennis Sports Betting

A new investigative unit has been formed to help investigate and prosecute sports betting the in game of tennis. The Integrity Unit, which will be run by former Scotland Yard detective Jeff Rees, was created because of the threat posed to tennis by internet gambling. This past May, a report was filed by Rees and a fellow investigator that proposed options that would later form the Integrity Unit. (02/09)
