Delaware Casinos worrying about upcoming NFL season

The NFL lockout situation currently has casinos in the state of Delaware worrying about the upcoming sports betting season. The casinos in the state are the only ones in a large area that provide sports betting options for punters and with millions made last year the casinos are wondering if the lock out is going to affect their business. Victoria Gambling Minister receives recommendations to help match fixing

The Gambling Minister in Victoria, Australia Michael O’Brien recently received a report that lists many recommendations on how to keep match fixing and sports betting from taking place in Victoria. Des Gleeson, the former racing chief steward in Victoria created the report which is thirty nine pages long and sent it to the minister. (22/04)

New Jersey sports betting referendum could be passed this fall

In November the state of New Jersey will be placing a referendum up for voting which would see sports betting available in casinos as well as at the racetracks. To see if the voters were in agreement with the referendum a poll was taken statewide. The results showed that over fifty percent were in favor of the options of sports betting. (20/04)

Former players and coach charged in San Diego betting scandal

Two former basketball players and one former assistant coach from the University of San Diego have been charged for setting up and running a sports betting business. A total of ten have been found to be involved with operation so far and the investigation is ongoing. (18/04)

Sports Betting Ring Busted in Pennsylvania

This past Friday, eight men were charged with operating an illegal sports betting ring in the state of Pennsylvania that was taking in over $1 million in just one year. The District Attorney and the police force were working together to shut down this operation and after an extensive investigation, police were able to bust the gambling ring. (04/04)
