It was announced today by the CEO of the BookMaker website, Mickey Richardson that BookMaker would be accepting $1,000,000 USD bet from Joe “The Factsman” Apricena on United States College Football. This amount is record setting for one bet and of course could come from none other than the professional sports handicapper himself, Apricena.

The wager is that Apricena must finish the 2008 College Footballl season with a better win/loss record than Richardson. Each person will make thirty picks and every Friday those picks will be submitted on the SportsForumPicks website. Each person must make a minimum pick of one per week.

August 28th is the beginning of The Factman’s BookMaker Challenge, which also marks the opening weekend of the College Football season. The bet will continue through the bowl season and will include the Bowl Championship Series national championship game in January of next year.

The Factsman makes his home at SportsForumsPicks and has a winning percentage of 64% on college football picks. This is from over ten years of doing so. The Factsman is known in the sportsbook world as a master in betting. “Sportsbooks do most of their homework on the top twenty five college teams in the country because that’s where they’ll see most of their action,” says Apricena. “But on the other games each week, I’ll find five-to eight-point mistakes all year long.”

This will not be the first time that Richardson and The Factsman have gone head to head. The Factsman won a similar $1 million bet against Richardson in 2006 on Major League Baseball. The Factsman won with a percentage of 72% when he only needed 68% to beat Richardson. In 2007, the two fought again, this time betting on the NFL, and it was The Factsman who lost, when he fell back early on in the season. It will be interesting to see who will prevail as the winner and bragging rights this go round.
