Since the ice hockey and NBA seasons have ended, bookmakers are now making their picks for the 2010 Super Bowl. The NFL season begins September 10th and already the New England Patriots are in the lead as the team to beat.

The Patriots have 5/1 odds at Ladbrokes while WilliamHill, ToteSport, BoyleSports and BetFred have the team at 6/1 odds. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the defending Super Bowl champions and they are sitting at 8/1 odds at SportingBet, VictorChandler and ExtraBet. Other close teams are the New York Giants at 9/1 odds at ToteSport and BoyleSports and the Indianapolis Colts with 9/1 odds at SportingBet.

Bookmakers have the Detroit Lions with the lowest odds of 125/1 since they have not made
the finals since 1999. The NFL season will begin with the Tennessee Titans playing the Pittsburgh Steelers and then just a few days later the other teams will begin their season. It will be interesting to see if the teams slated at the top of the group will remain on top or if a few underdogs will climb their way to the top of the heap.
