Boylessports of Ireland has just announced plans to expand their internet betting business to Spain and other European countries. The company plans on spending more than $4.3 million during this expansion that is set to take place over the next twelve months.

Boylessports is the online bookmaker behind the website and is based in Dundalk. The company has hired John Overett to head a team of twenty people developing website and gambling products for Europe. Overett is the former executive with Bwin, the Austrian online sports betting specialist.

Daniel O’Mahoney, the Chief Executive Officer for Boylessports, told the Irish Times that the company plans to have its Spanish language site running in the next two months and a second language site by December. “We’re looking at adding another four next year,” stated O’Mahoney.

John Boyle and family own Boylessports and they just recently announced that their annual turnover had risen sixteen percent, while gross profits had increased by eighteen percent over the same time frame. The group also stated that they will be moving the end of their financial year to December so they can be compared in performance to their competitors. The company is also currently debt free.

O’Mahoney stated: “We tend to invest for three to five years ahead and, if we switch the taps off, it can be hard to switch them on again.”

Most recently Boylessports became the official shirt sponsor for the Irish owned English Premiership soccer team Sunderland. They also signed a deal to become the betting partner of Aston Villa. The company also signed a deal to become the official betting partner for the Football Association of Ireland.
