Friesian Fire Odds Favorite to Win Kentucky Derby
Gamblers are gearing up to make their picks for the upcoming Kentucky Derby. The biggest betting event next to the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby is a big draw for those who like to press their luck. The 135th Kentucky Derby will begin this Saturday and the leading odds favorite is Friesian Fire.

Friesian Fire sits at single digit odds to win the Derby and many in the sports betting world have had to change their mind about the colt. Before this year the colt had only place third in the 2008 Belmont Futurity Stakes and had not placed any better at any other event.

This year the colt has done extremely well winning three big events including the Louisiana Derby. Beginning in March the colt became the one to beat at this year’s Derby. Though the competition is stiff, some believe that “I Want Revenge” will be the one to beat.

Joe Talamo is the jockey riding “I Want Revenge” and he has an impressive record. He was voted the Eclipse Award as the United State Champion Apprentice Jockey and has earned five Grade 1 racings titles back in 2007.

It should be a close race with both competitors doing well and the bets are rising on large bookmaker sites for both. We shall see in the days ahead who will pull out on top and be the top odds favorite when the Derby begins.
