GigaMedia Limited recently announced a new partnership with Victor Chandler International Group, a sportsbetting firm. The deal will expand GigaMedia’s EverestPoker gaming platform and will create a new sportsbetting site called EverestBets.

GigaMedia released a statement commenting the new site will offer richer gaming and an entertainment experience supported by both Victor Chandler and Everest. Bob Cahill the CEO for GigaMedia gaming software division commented:

“Victor Chandler is a sportsbetting legend with an enormous, thriving business and an unsurpassed reputation for honor and integrity. We hit the ground running with a world-class offering addressing a multi-billion dollar market. We are absolutely thrilled and look forward to additional exciting opportunities with Victor Chandler going forward.”

The decision to create a sportsbetting site was brought on by a recent survey done by GigaMedia. The survey showed that a large number of EverestPoker players take part in sportsbetting. This led to the creation of EverestBets.
