Grand Final has $50 Million in Bets Placed
Fans are really getting excited about tomorrows AFL Grand Final. So much so that $50 million in bets have been place for the event. Both teams continue to have bets placed on who will win. It is expected that before play begins, Geelong’s odds will be shortened further.

Geelong is rated a $1.44 chance to take their second successive flag of Hawthorn at $2.90. If Geelong takes it, then one lucky gambler will win more than $1.5 million. This bettor wagers up to $500,000 a match.

Gary Ablett is the favorite for the Norm Smith Medal at $7 and has more than $2 million wagered. Jimmy Bartell and Lance Franklin are next with betting at $10. Last year’s Norm Smith Medalist, Steve Johnson is rated at $14 chance.

Almost 100,000 people are expecting to attend the match and authorities are asking fans to take public transportation to the game. A parade is taking place today to get fans even more ready for the match.

Betting platforms have reported record numbers in betting. Gerard Daffy, a bookie from Lasseters Sports Betting, stated that bets were coming in from around the world for the first time all-Victorian Grand Final in eight years.

Daffy stated: “The Norm Smith is an event in itself because it encompasses the whole game is quite fun because it doesn’t matter which team wins. It truly is an international game, especially with all the ex-pats overseas. The biggest bet we are carrying is $15,000 on Hawthorn at $2.90.
