Last Leader Pleads Guilty in Borgata Sports Betting Ring
The third and final leader of the Borgata Casino Sports Betting Ring pleads guilty this last Tuesday to taking illegal bets for the sports ring. Anthony Nicodemo is the last of the three ring leaders to plead guilty in the case.

Nicodemo plead guilty to a second degree charge of conspiracy and will serve a three year state prison sentence with his right to appeal waive. His attorney, James Leonard stated that the charges of racketeering and money laundering as well as the promotion of gambling charge will be dropped.

It has been alleged that Nicodemo was a leader in the ring over the twenty three members. He admitted in court on Tuesday that he was aware of the illegal bookmaking operation and that he took at least five bets for over $1,000. Nicodemo also admitted that he had taken at least $75,000 in proceeds.

The other two major players in the sports betting ring were Jack Buscemi Jr and Andrew Micali. Buscemi was alleged to be the boss and Micali was alleged to be controlling the everyday operations. Both plead guilty back in December and will be sentenced in February.
