Man Arrested for Stealing over $1Million to Bet On Horse Races
Last Saturday, a man was arrested after it was found out that he had stole $1.6 million from a law firm where he was employed. David Sarnowski was employed at the Florida law firm of Yarborough, Sarnowski, & Evans and he provided payroll services for the company. It has been revealed that David was stealing the funds over a four year period to have money for his online horse racing gambling habit. David was arrested in Florida and was charged with stealing the large sum of money. A spokeswoman from the Sheriff’s office of the county where David was arrested commented that David would bet often and in large sums of money. This would explain why he stole a ridiculous amount of money from the law offices.
This is just another example of what the consequences are if one becomes addicted to gambling, of any kind. Our government wants to limit what we can gamble on over the internet but lotteries and horse racing is not included. This just goes to show that all forms of gambling can be habit forming if not practiced with discretion.
