NBA Commissioner Talks Sports Betting
The NBA and Sports Betting have never been synonymous but in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, David Stern, the NBA Commissioner, commented that if sports betting were legalized in the United States it would build a reputable relationship between the NBA and sports betting groups.

Stern called legalized sports betting a huge opportunity and it seemed as though he was preparing to discuss further the option of allowing sports betting on NBA games. The author of the interview seemed to be in agreement as well. Ian Thomsen agreed with Stern and stated that if sports betting were deemed legal then the government would be able to police sports betting. This would allow the government to protect the revenue base and safeguard sports leagues to create new taxes.

Thomsen also made another good point. The writer commented that if people were able to place best on the NBA then it would create a larger fan base, or interest. Fans would be more excited to attend games and events because they would be betting on the outcome.
