North Carolina Remains Top Pick for Championship Winner
The first two rounds of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Champions, aka March Madness, has ended and the top pick for bookies still remains the North Carolina team. The tournament began with sixty four teams competing in thirty two single elimination games last weekend. Then the sixteen winners competed bringing the teams down to eight competing. North Carolina still has a way to go before we will know if they will win the championships. This weekend, the eight teams remaining will compete to decide the final four which will take place on April 4th Detroit, Michigan. North Carolina was up against Radford University in their first game and they won the match up 101-58, which was very impressive.
North Carolina then faced Louisiana State University in the second round and won that game with a score of 84-70, not as big of a defeat as their first game. North Carolina will face Gonzaga University this Friday to see which team will make it to the final four.
On one particular bookmaker site, the odds for North Carolina in the beginning were 16/5 and now they are 3/1. It will be interesting to see if those odds remain or change after this week’s game. We could see Gonzaga put out the favorite to win.
