Olympic Committee Sets Up System for Illegal Betting
A new system has been established by the International Olympic Committee to watch for illegal betting. The new system was created to watch for illegal betting connected to Olympic competitions and the system will be ready for the 2010 Vancouver winter games.

International Sports Monitoring, a new Swiss company, will be conducting the monitoring for the Committee. This past weekend the Committee stated that the Monitoring firm will be analyzing betting on Olympic competitions and flag any irregularities that need investigating.

Athletes at the Winter Olympics will be educated about the new monitoring program as part of broadening efforts in sports to help corrupt betting and match fixing. Those associated with the Olympics are banned from betting on competitions.

Hopefully the system will work when it comes to controlling illegal betting. The Winter Olympics are not very far away and with this system in place and the International Sports Monitoring company analyzing the data; very few if any illegal bets should be taking place.
