Penn National Race Course Scheduled to reopen 2/12
The Penn National Race Course is scheduled to reopen it's doors on Tuesday February 12th at 6:45pm, pending approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. This grand reopening comes after being closed for 2 months. At the original grand opening happened back on August 30, 1972 10,686 people showed up. While the crowd probably won't be as big but everyone is excited about the remodel and happy to see live races again.The board is waiting to approve the opening until after two nights of test runs and if everything goes as planned customers will look forward to the first live horses race since December 21st. Customers are going to notice quite a few changes, horses are going to be running for slightly higher purses then before for starters.
Live races will be held Wednesdays through Saturdays plus on selected Tuesdays with now free admission. There is also to be a theater on the second for those that prefer to watch simulcasts from other tracks and 60 season boxes that overlook the track and 4 banquet halls, each named after a notable horse that raced at the track. But the biggest addition is the new Hollywood Casino, The new casino will have 2,000 slots machines and 20 electric blackjack tables.
