Ivey will be working with iTeam Network, a ‘white-label’ provider, to launch a new platform offering daily fantasy sports activity. Ivey stated that over the past few years he has been looking for additional ways to share his perspective on DFS with fans. He has decided to work with iTeam Network due to their compliance and core technology values as well as the leadership role that Gabe Hunterton plays with the company.
Hunterton stated that the company is always looking for brands and partners to work with in the fantasy sports industry and Ivey is an obvious choice. The poker pro has earned more than $10.4 million in his online poker career and has earned almost $24 million overall. Ivey’s team has already begun working with iTeam to get started on the project.
Hunterton continued by stating that there is a large crossover with poker enthusiasts and players of DFS. The Ivey brand will help to increase the liquidity of players as well as prize pools with his influence. An aggressive marketing campaign has already begun and execution plan in place to ensure PhilIveyDFS users will have the option to compete in unique contests.
Currently, players have the option to take part in a weekly pro basketball contest with over $20,000 up for grabs. Competitors can even interact with Phil directly, making the experience even more personal. It will be interesting to see if Ivey is successful in his endeavors with the daily fantasy sports industry.
